I think that we are mistaken to start with the tool and then look for applications. Better to describe the problems and then try and find the best way of addressing them.

Twitter’s the darnedest thing, huh?

On the surface it seems so trivial & frivolous.

And yet, it’s simplicity is its complexity.

And although it may not be soon, I think the premise of Twitter – in combination with robust enterprise software – could reap enormous benefits in healthcare.

Yes, things have move along since the time of the original post in January 2009!!

Twitter continues its upward flight – how long it will sustain remains to be seen. But I think the general premise of Twitter is here to stay: it’s becoming a staple of communication.

Since the post, I’ve come to see Twitter’s use as a new kind of communication protocol, over which I think we’ll see machines starting to use.

I don’t think we’ve seen Twitter’s full potential yet.
