On the surface it seems so trivial &amp; frivolous. 

And yet, it&#039;s simplicity is its complexity.

And although it may not be soon, I think the premise of Twitter - in combination with robust enterprise software - could reap enormous benefits in healthcare.

Yes, things have move along since the time of the original post in January 2009!!

Twitter continues its upward flight - how long it will sustain remains to be seen. But I think the general premise of Twitter is here to stay: it&#039;s becoming a staple of communication.

Since the post, I&#039;ve come to see Twitter&#039;s use as a new kind of communication protocol, over which I think we&#039;ll see machines starting to use.

I don&#039;t think we&#039;ve seen Twitter&#039;s full potential yet. 

Wait until the Machine Tweets :)
