Blog Action Day 2008: Poverty
It’s blog action day and I thought for a long time on what to write. So many people write on this topic and I plan on a bigger post sometime when fewer people are posting. For now, here’s my blog action day post which came to me first on Twitter:
There are all kinds of poverty.
Poverty of empathy is perhaps the cruelest.
It’s pure evil.

indeed. without empathy, it's that much harder to deal with other forms of poverty.
for my part, i turn to sites like freerice (rice donation), kiva (microfinance), and goodsearch (donation per search), as ways to help alleviate poverty online. i also put up their banners on my blog.
